Alexander Scavone

I work with data — SQL, Excel, Looker — and I build small AI tools that people at work actually use.

About

I study Information Systems & Business Analytics at UNH. Most of my time goes to data — cleaning it, querying it, and turning it into dashboards people actually open.

The part I care about most is AI. At my Konica Minolta internship I used Claude to reorganize an 800+ page documentation space in a week, and built a prototype that turns equipment data into sales leads. Both started as side ideas. Both got used.

Data Analyst Intern

Konica Minolta Business Solutions

Built dashboards and reports in Looker, and looked for places where AI could take work off people's plates.

  • Reorganized an 800+ page Confluence space with zero prior structure in one week using Claude, Rovo AI, and the Confluence API to auto-classify and sort content — saving the team 5-10 minutes a day in document search.
  • Built a Looker dashboard tracking vulnerability status across 4,800+ machines nationwide, giving stakeholders real-time visibility into fleet-wide risk.
  • Prototyped an AI layer that flags usage spikes in equipment data and auto-generates sales-ready lead cards, presented to senior management at the final internship presentation.
  • Built data models and reports in Looker, and used SQL to trace pipelines and confirm numbers matched a single source of truth.

Data Analyst

UNH Sports Analytics Lab

Digging through ticketing data to figure out what actually gets students in the seats.

  • Analyzed 100,000+ ticketing and attendance records to identify fan behavior trends and attendance drivers.
  • Designed data visualizations and performance dashboards for athletic department leadership.
  • Presented findings to stakeholders and recommended strategies to increase fan engagement and optimize marketing.
  • Applied statistical analysis, data cleaning, and business intelligence techniques to support evidence-based decisions.

Fan Engagement Analysis

Analyzed 100,000+ ticketing and attendance records for UNH Athletics to work out what actually gets students into the seats — not what everyone assumed did.

What happened

Students turned out more on Fridays (~744 per game) than Saturdays (~671), the opposite of the assumption the schedule was built on. The finding went to athletic department leadership and fed into game-day scheduling and how Saturday matchups get marketed.

AI Sales Alert Prototype

A working prototype that watches equipment usage data for spikes, then writes the sales team a lead card — account details, machine info, talking points, and an upgrade to suggest.

Presented to senior management at my final internship presentation as an example of AI solving a real business problem.

800+ Page Confluence Cleanup

A documentation space with no structure at all. I used Claude, Rovo AI, and the Confluence API to auto-classify and file every page in about a week.

Saved a 15+ person team 5-10 minutes of searching a day.

This Site's AI Chatbot

The chatbot on this page. It answers questions about my background from a document I maintain, streaming replies in real time. Built with Next.js and the Claude API, with no prior web development experience.

Built to admit what it doesn't know instead of guessing, with rate limiting and capped response length. Runs at about a tenth of a cent per question.
